Prune Cake

Prune Cake

Ingredients
  • 3 eggs
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup prunes, chopped and rolled in flour
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour and dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, and liquids. Bake for 1 hour.
  2. Boil the following together:
  3. cup sugar
  4. stick butter
  5. /2 cup buttermilk
  6. tsp vanilla
  7. tsp corn syrup
  8. Pour mixture while hot over cake.
